Environment The external environment

Our primary goal is to inform the organisation about any potential environmental impacts which may result from the activities of Danfoss Industry Service. Where necessary, IS-EM coordinates efforts to prevent and reduce any emissions which may pose a risk to the surrounding environment.

We are responsible  for:

  • Updating the Environmental Law and Regulation Database of Danfoss Industry Service, and for informing Danfoss Industry Service of forthcoming EU directives and proposals for environmental legislation and, when appropriate, taking any necessary measures.
  • Negotiating conditions and cooperating with environmental authorities on compiling and updating environmental approvals  and monitoring programmes.
  • Dealing with activities which require cooperation at different levels of management.
  • Undertaking analysis and calculations of emissions to air and water.
  • Providing advice on particular environmental issues such as quality of drinking water, reduction and remedy of soil and ground water contamination, and waste management.
  • Estimating the harmful effects of new chemicals and materials, and cooperating with environmental coordinators within different Danfoss Divisions to identify suitable substitutes for chemicals identified to be harmful.
  • Arranging Cleaner Technology meetings.
  • Contribing to the compilation of environmental impact assessments  and environment assessments in due diligence as well as advice on environmental protection related issues.
